Harriet Tjeerdsma

Harriet was born in Iowa to William and Elizabeth Jongetjes. Her family moved to California,  then to a farm in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. She met her husband, George Tjeerdsma, Jr. through the Christian Reformed Church, Delavan and they were married December 4, 1953. During their 70 years of marriage they enjoyed travelling all over the United States visiting their many friends and relatives. They enjoyed card club with friends, and could often be found enjoying breakfast, lunch, or dinner at local restaurants.  Especially Culvers!

Harriet was a member of Calvary Community Church, Williams Bay, and will be remembered for her willingness to serve. She mentored young women with Apples of Gold, was a deaconess, and was always willing to organize and supply food for any event. Her love of Jesus as her Lord and Savior was evident in her actions and words.

Harriet was self-employed as a trusted caretaker/housekeeper for people who wanted excellence when it came to cleaning and caring for their homes. She was appreciated for her work ethic which was nothing short of perfection.

Harriet enjoyed quilting with her group of quilting friends. She went on quilting trips to find just the right fabric for the many beautiful quilts that she created for her family.
