Beverly "Jean" Benstead Honeyager

DELAVAN – Beverly “Jean” Benstead Honeyager, age 89, of Delavan peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Arbor View Senior Living in Burlington.  Jean was born in Chicago, IL on December 10, 1934 to Joseph and Elnora Jane Catalanello.  The family later moved to Delavan, WI where Jean attended school and graduated from Delavan High School in 1953.  She married Wayne Benstead of Darien, WI and together they had four children.  Later in life, she married Richard Honeyager.  Jean dedicated her life to her family.  She found immense joy in the company of her four children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.  Jean also had a passion for animals.  Whether she was raising a litter of puppies, showing dogs, or simply enjoying her family pets, Jean never met a dog she didn’t like.  Jean also enjoyed travel and would take trips with family and friends to various places around the world.    

Jean is survived by her four children, Rodney (Lori) Benstead, of Burlington, WI, Kimberly Chamberlain, of Sun Prairie, WI, Renae (Steven) Ferraro, of Whitewater, WI, and John Benstead, of Morton Grove, IL; her brother, Ralph (Mary Ann) Catalanello, of Las Vegas, NV; and her husband, Richard Honeyager, of Lake Geneva, WI. 

Jean is preceded in death by her parents; and first husband, Wayne Benstead.      

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Walworth Avenue in Delavan.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Jean’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Arbor View Senior Living Staff and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care.  In place of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the Lakeland Animal Shelter in Elkhorn, www.lakelandanimalshelter.org
